Customer Background and Production Need
The customer is a plastic product supplier in southern Canada. Its product range includes general containers, large chemical jerrycans, dock floats, and industrial accessories. The customer had already used German-made extrusion blow molding equipment, but North American demand required more product shape flexibility and scheduling flexibility. They wanted to add a production setup that could handle different jerrycan shapes and integrate flash recycling.
Technical Challenge
The key requirement was to produce both round and square 20L HDPE chemical jerrycans on one machine while reducing the burden of mold changeover, scheduling changes, and flash handling. Different container shapes affect blowing pressure, cooling time, and wall thickness distribution, so the mold, station configuration, and flash recycling process had to be evaluated together.
Jonh Huah's Solution
Jonh Huah supplied the JN-1000-2 dual-station extrusion blow molding machine for the round and square jerrycan production requirement. The machine uses a servo-hydraulic system, with servo control applied to carriage movement and blow pin actions so the line can maintain a more stable movement rhythm across different product shapes. The line also integrates flash handling so trimmed material can enter the recycling process, reducing manual flash handling time.
Project Result
After installation, the customer used one JN-1000-2 machine to produce both round and square 20L HDPE chemical jerrycans. The public output is 137 pcs/hr. The value of this configuration is that one production line can handle two shapes, reducing mold changeover and scheduling pressure. Automatic flash recycling also reduces manual trimming and handling time. The customer has not published margin, energy-use, or scrap-rate figures, so this case does not claim percentage improvement.
Why This Solution Worked
Jonh Huah Machinery has manufactured extrusion blow molding equipment since 1976, with experience across bottles, industrial jerrycans, automotive hollow parts, and special material applications. For this type of project, the key decision is not only the machine specification but also the material, mold, station layout, flash recycling, and downstream inspection.
